Have you jumped into the world of Pinterest yet?
What if we told you your target customer is likely searching for your products or services right now? Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase why you are the solution to their problems!
You may have noticed by now that Pinterest is one of our favorite resources to help you get noticed by your target audience. Although it is often referred to as another social media platform, we think of it as a visual search engine—offering you even more opportunities to capture your ideal customer’s attention.
More and more people find themselves gravitating to Pinterest for new ideas and to find inspiration. It’s a great marketing opportunity regardless of your industry.
What Are Idea Pins?
Idea Pins are very similar to stories that you’ll find on Instagram or Facebook. They are a great way to:
- Share short videos for step-by-step processes
- Diversify how you share your brand story
- Add topic tags
- Gain more followers
According to Pinterest:
“You can use Idea Pins to record multiple videos, add images, lists and custom text in a single Pin. Like other Pins, Idea Pins will stay on your boards once you’ve published them. Once you’ve published at least one Idea Pin, the Pin will be displayed on your profile at the top of your “Created” tab along with all of your Idea Pins.”
How to grow on pinterest
Unlike normal pins, Idea Pins do not allow you to add links. This opens the door to attracting more followers by creating irresistible content that your viewers will want to see more of. The easiest way for them to continue seeing your content is to click the follow button to ensure they don’t miss out. Once you have captured their attention with your Idea Pins, you can continue nurturing these connections with normal pins, where they will be able to access all of your valuable content and gain access to your links.
Although you can't add links, Pinterest recently rolled out a new feature allowing product tagging on Idea Pins. This new feature is ideal for e-commerce businesses—especially as we head into the holiday season!
