Using Video to Skyrocket Traffic

A computer on a desk next to a white abstract vase is being used to create a video marketing strategy.

As a user, scrolling through Facebook or Instagram, what is more likely to catch your eye and stop your scroll- a static image or a video?

You’ll experience the same effect on Pinterest, especially since they have introduced controlled distribution, giving more weight to video content.

The rise in popularity of Tik Tok and Reels are a testament to the love of video.

Haven’t you ever been sucked into watching a series of videos, then suddenly wondered where the time went?  While there certainly can be entertainment value in videos on social media, the marketing opportunity is immense.

Just so you know, this post contains an affiliate link.  This means I receive commissions for purchases made through those links, at no cost to you. Please understand that I have experience with this company, and I recommend them because they are helpful and useful, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy something.

Best Video Tools for Small Business Owners

Does creating video content take more time than creating static content?  Yes.  Is it worth the investment?  Also, yes.

My go-to tool for video creation is Wave.Video.  I love the huge selection of templates and stock videos to help inspire me.  It’s also really easy to use, and fun to customize with GIFs and audio.  You can even do voice over.

They have a really cool AI feature that allows you to put a link to a blog post, or type in a phrase, and a video is automatically created!

As the owner of a Content Marketing Agency, I really love how Wave.Video saves me time.  I can create a video for a client, and automatically resize it for each platform.  Then I repurpose the video by clipping it into smaller segments, and using those for Facebook posts, Story Pins, and emails.

Optimize Your Content With Video

As a marketer, I can charge higher prices for video content, while attaining better results for my clients. When creating ads on social media, video consistently outperforms static images. Video content consistently generates leads, builds traffic, and drives sales.  66% of consumers prefer to watch a video than read about a product, and 84% of people have been convinced to buy a product after watching a video about it.  (Wyzowl)

I have been experimenting with video vs. standard graphics for some of my clients, and will share those results in a future blog post.

Are you ready to add video content to your marketing strategy?  Wave.Video is offering an incredible 50% off right now during the pandemic.  You can check them out here.
